This is done by firing the leaves in large ovens. The flavorful juices dry on the surface of the leaves and remain relatively stable until exposed to boiling water during infusion. If you are being treated with any of the following medications, you should not drink green tea or take green tea extract without first talking to your health care provider. After a period of five years, researchers were able to find a close inverse link between functional disability risk and the consumption of green tea. Higher intake of green tea was associated with a dramatically lower risk of functional disability in the group studied.Researchers noted that green tea consumption did not appear to suppress appetite, an indicator that the weight reduction effect was due to inhibition of fat cell genesis. Results show that participants, who began the trials with high cholesterol, saw their total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol decrease by 5 to 6 points.
